- StackState platform
- StackPacks
- StackState Agent
- StackState CLI:
StackState platform
Feature releases
Feature releases of StackState deliver new functionality to our customers, they are released on a quarterly schedule. A feature release will be defined as either a major release (for example, v5.0.0) or a minor release (for example v5.1.0) depending on the extent and impact of the changes it includes.
Maintenance releases
Maintenance releases are made in between the feature releases to fix bugs and issues. These releases will be made on an as-needed basis.
Support policy
The three most recently released feature release families are covered under StackState technical support. For example, v4.5.x, v4.6.x and v5.0.x. Older versions of the StackState platform are considered to be End Of Life (EOL) and will no longer be supported.
For a list of the currently supported StackState platform versions, see https://docs.stackstate.com/
StackPacks
Releases
StackPack releases are decoupled from StackState platform releases. This allows StackPacks to evolve faster than the StackState platform, ensuring customers can always work with the latest and greatest integrations.
As with StackState platform version numbering, major and minor StackPack versions are feature releases that deliver new functionality (for example, AWS StackPack v1.0.0, v1.1.0 or v1.2.0). Bug fixes for the most recent feature release will be released between feature releases with patch versioning (for example, AWS StackPack v1.2.1).
Each version of StackState ships with the most recent StackPacks available at the time of release. For a list of the StackPacks shipped with each currently supported StackState version, see StackPack versions (docs.stackstate.com).
Support policy
Only the most recent major/minor version of each StackPack is actively maintained. There will be no maintenance releases for older StackPack versions. For example, after AWS StackPack v1.3.0 is released, there will be no more maintenance releases for the AWS StackPack v1.2 or earlier.
StackState Agent
Releases
StackState Agent releases are decoupled from StackState platform releases. New versions of the Agent will be released as new functionality becomes available. Agent releases are always backwards compatible with the StackState platform.
As with StackState platform version numbering, major and minor Agent versions are feature releases that deliver new functionality (for example, Agent v2.16.0, v2.17.0 or v3.0.0). Bug fixes for the most recent feature release will be released between feature releases with patch versioning (for example, v2.17.1).
Support policy
Only the most recent major/minor version of the Agent is actively maintained. There will be no maintenance releases for older Agent versions. For example, after Agent v2.18.0 is released, there will be no more maintenance releases for Agent v2.17 or earlier.
StackState CLI
sts
CLI
Releases
Releases of the sts
CLI are decoupled from StackState platform releases. New versions will be released as new functionality becomes available.
As with StackState platform version numbering, major and minor sts
CLI versions are feature releases that deliver new functionality (for example, sts
CLI v1.0.0, v1.1.0 or v1.2.0). Bug fixes for the most recent feature release will be released between feature releases with patch versioning (for example, v1.2.1).
Support policy
Only the most recent major/minor version of the sts
CLI is actively maintained. There will be no maintenance releases for older sts
CLI versions. For example, after sts
CLI v1.3.0 is released, there will be no more maintenance releases for sts
CLI v1.2 or earlier.
